SAT-Inspired Eliminations for Superposition

چکیده
Optimized SAT solvers not only preprocess the clause set, they also transform it during solving as inprocessing. Some preprocessing techniques have been generalized to first-order logic with equality. In this article, we port inprocessing work superposition, a leading proof calculus, and strengthen known techniques. Specifically, look into elimination of hidden literals, variables (predicates), blocked clauses. Our evaluation using Zipperposition prover confirms that new usefully supplement existing superposition machinery.

Community Structure Inspired Algorithms for SAT and #SAT
We introduce h-modularity, a structural parameter of CNF formulas, and present algorithms that render the decision problem SAT and the model counting problem #SAT fixed-parameter tractable when parameterized by h-modularity. The new parameter is defined in terms of a partition of clauses of the given CNF formula into strongly interconnected communities which are sparsely interconnected with eac...
متن کاملEquality, Quasi-Implicit Products, and Large Eliminations
This paper presents a type theory with a form of equality reflection: provable equalities can be used to coerce the type of a term. Coercions and other annotations, including implicit arguments, are dropped during reduction of terms. We develop the metatheory for an undecidable version of the system with unannotated terms. We then devise a decidable system with annotated terms, justified in ter...
متن کاملDisimplicial arcs, transitive vertices, and disimplicial eliminations
In this article we deal with the problems of finding the disimplicial arcs of a digraph and recognizing some interesting graph classes defined by their existence. A diclique of a digraph is a pair V → W of sets of vertices such that v → w is an arc for every v ∈ V and w ∈W . An arc v → w is disimplicial when N−(w)→ N(v) is a diclique. We show that the problem of finding the disimplicial arcs is...
متن کاملLabelled Superposition for PLTL
This paper introduces a new decision procedure for PLTL based on labelled superposition. Its main idea is to treat temporal formulas as infinite sets of purely propositional clauses over an extended signature. These infinite sets are then represented by finite sets of labelled propositional clauses. The new representation enables the replacement of the complex temporal resolution rule, suggeste...
متن کامل[DRAFT] The Calculus of Dependent Lambda Eliminations∗
Modern constructive type theory is based on pure dependently typed lambda calculus, augmented with user-defined datatypes. This paper presents an alternative called the Calculus of Dependent Lambda Eliminations, based on pure lambda encodings with no auxiliary datatype system. New typing constructs are defined which enable induction, as well as large eliminations with lambda encodings. These co...
